I have worked in the field of mental health as a clinical social worker since 1974. My degree is a Licensed Certified Social Worker with a R status for many years. My experience has been in outpatient mental health  with individuals and families who have a variety of diagnostic difficulties and life difficulties.  I have also been a staff member and evening supervisor within a Crisis Team in Westchester County  and I have experience within a Compulsive Gamblers Clinic at St. Vincent's speciality clinic years ago in Staten Island N.Y.. My Master's degree in Social Work is from Hunter College and I have four years post graduate training at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Analysis in Manhattan. I have been a field supervisor for Fordham University's School of Social Work interns and also with Dominican College's BSW program.  I have worked with many age groups to include children and elders. I practice within a supportive and empathic psychodynamic framework that utilizes both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT skills and techniques. My mission is to provide quality care and to respect  the cultural diversities of my client's. I understand that a client is a whole person and cannot be solely  defined by his or her problems. I work with an individual's strengths towards improved self esteem and life goals.
